HURL Elkhorn 50 Mile/50 K Ultramarathons - Saturday, August 7th, 2010

The Elkhorn races depend on volunteers to staff aid stations, haul supplies, clear trails and ensure the safety of the runners. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Alan Wintersteen.

Aid Stations Volunteers

Aid station hours are based on previous years experience. Starting hours are particularly important. Ending times may be based on race cutoff times. The actual shift hours are approximate, and subject to adjustment. We intend to have multiple shifts at the aid stations open for long periods, but anyone is welcome to stay and help as long as they wish!

Drop Bags

Drop bags for Tepee Creek will have to be packed in and out a little over a mile from the nearest trailhead by our volunteers.

de-Flagging

After the 50 mile runners have completed their morning loop through Montgomery Park, Casey Meadowns and Jackson creek, that portion of the course needs to be re-flagged for the 23k, 50k and returning 50 mile runners, who will use the same trails, but in the opposite direction.

Trail work

Every year one or two trail work days are needed to clear the down trees off of the trails. The final trail work day for 2010 will be Saturday July 24.
