Youth Cross Country and Track

In an effort to provide an opportunity for young athletes in the Helena area to properly prepare for competition in a fun and rewarding team environment, the Helena Vigilante Runners and coach Jesse Zentz invite you to participate in our youth cross country and track club. This program provides general training that can benefit athletes in various sports, but primarily helps prepare local youth for USATF Junior Olympic state, regional and national championships, and other various competitions after the middle and high school cross country and track seasons end.

Our goal is to provide school-aged children with proper support and supervised coaching that will give them additional opportunities to pursue competitive cross country and track outside the traditional school training and competition schedules.

We emphasize a fun-first training philosophy that fosters a love for cross country and track and field.

Helena Vigilante Runners is a USA Track and Field Member Club, which means a USATF membership in good standing is a requirement to attend practices and meets. The $20 membership is the only required fee as free coaching is provided on a volunteer basis. You can register for a USATF membership here. When registering, make sure you enter 607 in the Club Number field.

HEAD COACH AND MANAGER

Jesse Zentz

Jesse is a registered USATF coach, attended the USATF SafeSport training, and completed all of the training required by the Montana High School Association and the National Federation of State High School Associations to coach at the high school level. He also is an assistant coach with the Helena High cross country and track and field teams.

FEES

  • USATF membership (required for participation practices and meets): $20
  • Meet registration: $5-10 per event
  • Helena Vigilante Runners racing singlet (recommended, but optional): $30
