Youth Cross Country and Track

The Helena Vigilante Runners (HVR) invite young athletes in the greater Helena area to participate in our Youth Cross Country and Track program. Participation in meets is not required, but is encouraged as our goal is to help prepare children for USATF Junior Olympic state, regional and US championship events in a fun and rewarding environment. We strive to provide participants with proper support and supervised coaching that will foster a love for the sport and provide additional opportunities to pursue competitive cross country and track after school-based seasons conclude. We emphasize a training philosophy that fosters a love for cross country and track and field.

Complete the form at the bottom of this page if you are interested in joining the Vigilantes. We use TeamSnap to coordinate team communications and organization. Once a registration form is received, you will be added to the TeamSnap roster, which will trigger an invitation to join.

NOTE: Helena Vigilante Runners is a USA Track and Field Member Club, which means a USATF membership in good standing is a requirement to attend practices and meets for liability and insurance purposes. The $20 membership is the only required fee as coaching is provided on a volunteer basis. Please email jzentz@gmail.com for registration information and assistance.

HEAD COACH AND MANAGER

Jesse Zentz

USATF Registered and SafeSport Certified Coach
Helena High Assistant Cross Country and Track Coach

“As a life-long runner who competed in cross country and track in high school (Billings West) and college (University of Montana), I believe both sports provide youth with exercise for the body and the mind, and with boundless opportunities to grow as positive community members, role models and as athletes. The sport has given so much back to me, I feel it is an obligation of mine to give back to the sport and to the Montana running community that helped me succeed in running and in life. I also believe many families are often priced out of opportunities to participate in youth sports, which is why costs to participate are kept at a minimum.”
